I am glad BBC made this documentary titled “Surviving Biafra” on the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War. So, kudos to my brother, the award winning Nigerian filmmaker, Meji Alabi. It is difficult for me to watch as I see my people slaughtered like dogs simply for seeking freedom and the preservation of their lives. Pogrom was committed against my people following the unfortunate first military coup of January 15, 1966 that was termed an “Igbo coup” even when the authorities and anyone who cared for the truth and followed events in the country at the time knew it was not an Igbo coup. Our Igbo people and anyone who looked like them were hunted down, killed, beheaded, maimed, babies violently cut from their mother’s womb and killed across northern Nigeria for simply being Igbo. I look forward to more documentaries on this war imposed on my people because of the discovery of crude oil in the then Eastern region. While not a complete account of the war, and while I would have wanted to see more from the people who were slaughtered in the millions and subjected to genocide, yet it is worth watching by all who seeks truth and justice, to understand Nigeria then and now. I am gratified that perhaps the powers in London are beginning to realize that this injustice cannot go on and be hidden forever. The Biafrans were not defeated by the Nigerian Forces. Biafrans were defeated by the British government, the British Military and the Blockade orchestrated and imposed on the Biafran people by the government of General Yakubu Gowon. I have long urged Nigeria’s government to begin the process of healing the incalculable disaster perpetuated against the Igbos of Nigeria and other Easterners. Other Easterners suffered during the war as much as the Igbos because it was difficult to tell who was Igbo from the Efik or Ibibio for example. I urge everyone to watch this documentary.

This is the actual truth about "The Bibi Files" – this is all old information we all figured out years ago, but Tucker and his gullible audience are trying to play catch-up. Btw, don't give Tucker $6 to watch the documentary. It is online. This is NOT Tucker's documentary, like he claims in this post I am reposting. Tucker is a con artist. Also, I do recommend people watch it and then look into the claims. This documentary is a big nothing-burger and is the equivalent of a left wing coalition making a documentary on Trump.

Very proud of my daughter Laila. She is the Executive Producer of AlJazeera English Flagship 'Fault Lines.' Last night, she and her team won the 2025 best documentary award from the 'Royal Television Society' in London. The documentary was on the Gaza genocide and titled 'The Night Won't End.' Congratulations to Laila and her team! May the suffering of Gaza and its valiant people end soon. Here is the link to this very powerful documentary.

On this day, May 31, 2026, BBC published a documentary video featuring a few survivors of the Nigeria-Biafra civil war recounting their experiences. Among the three men are a Biafran soldier and two Nigerian soldiers. It remains true that the Nigerian government's insistence on going to war against Biafra for declaring its sovereignty was an evil that protected the British interests on the natural minerals (mainly the newly discovered oil in Igbo land) under the delusion of national unity, even if that meant THE EXTERMINATION OF THE IGBO PEOPLE, just to maintain a State that neither then nor now meets the definition of a nation but a country. No one, with an understanding of the deep cultural and ideological differences across the 250 ethncities would have conceived of almagamation – a forced marriage, as proper and feasible for the people. Considering its composition, to fix the problem of Nigeria, we must honestly, and with moral courage consider regional governance, or a peaceful separation of the country. The attached video is a short clip from the an hour+ BBC documentary found on the attached link below.
