A woman in hijab and a man were racially abused by an Islamophobic man in Sunderland earlier this week. The unidentified man questioned the woman why she was wearing a “bandage” on her head, saying she was “brainwashed” for wearing the hijab, before allegedly calling her a “f***ing P*ki” and then calling the man filming a “black c*nt”. Northumbria Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and working to identify those responsible.
