As painful as this is to hear, I must respectfully disagree with the term 'modern slavery.''' No one in the UK is being forced to work in care homes—there are opportunities to upskill and transition into other respectful roles. We need to be honest with ourselves and direct our frustration towards our own leaders back home. If our governments had built thriving nations, our citizens wouldn’t feel the need to seek better opportunities abroad under difficult conditions. UK leaders, like any others, are prioritizing their national interests. Let’s remain calm and remember that immigration policy is always shaped by political agendas in the West. The real accountability lies with African leadership. Those who applied for care visas before leaving Nigeria were fully aware of the nature of the work they were coming to do abroad. It was ultimately their personal choice to take that path. My opinion

these vocals are unreal

Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t. Listen…

Such brilliance. Such coherence.👏 There is nothing to add or remove. Thank you.

Until Africans fight for the right to exist and thrive on their own land they would voluntarily enslave themselves in another man’s land. That’s the tale of today’s Africans.

I don't recall seeing Singaporeans, Saudi Arabians, UAE citizens, and the rest rushing to get these odd jobs. Why Africans? Something is definitely not right 😕 😒

First thing nobody was forced to come over to UK especially to become an health care aid.. Also these workers knew what they were going to do and they get paid for it. A lot of Nigerians have changed their lives from that job. How’s it slavery if you weren’t forced ?

David Hundeyin's voice continues to scream in the wilderness - "you will never be one of them, no matter what they tell you & how important they make you feel, no matter how long you live amongst them, they'd always see you as that inferior being from Africa"

Still end to bad leadership in this country cause if the leadership is good why will I be seeking to go another man land to hustle and leave the good life I want which I can get it here but due to it can't be gotten from here we still want to apply and go there to make it

I feel her pain but everything is still up to us here to kick corrupt government out but no we wud rather keep quiet and do nothing as a pple.@Peter4Nigeria has been on #inecreform# pple are quite about it wen it's close to d min we wud all start lamenting. Its saddening

Yes, it's a harrowing tale. But the question remains: did the UK force them to come over? If African leaders had done their job, their citizens wouldn’t have felt the need to become willing "slaves".
