So, these bandits armed to the teeth, with RPGs (or are my eyes playing tricks on me) actually rolled into town (within Nigerian borders), without the knowledge and consent of the Nigerian authorities? And they were all left to go back in peace and in one piece, with their arsenal intact and their heads still attached to their shoulders? Someone please explain this to me, because ayam not understanding anything anymore. And somehow, we want to blame the communities? For refusing to die helplessly? To think that this is the same Nigeria of a little over 2 years ago when from the civil society to the media, Buhari was not allowed to drink water and drop the cup because of insecurity, inspite of all his visible and effective efforts, alongside our military. Alhamdulillah, our trip today to the Al-Mawasi area was beautiful and successful, but it also brought back so many memories and emotions. ♥️ We visited the home that opened its doors to Rafif’s family and welcomed us three different times during this war, without ever asking for anything in return. They received us with nothing but love, respect, and generosity. The first time was from December 2023 until April 2024. The second time lasted only one week, but it is a week that will remain in our memories forever, because Rafif was born during that week while we were in Al-Mawasi. I relocated to the US and everything changed, back to the classroom but now as a Student. Indeed a humbling experience for me. I love every opportunity I have to make complex topics simple.
