This demonizing of Jews isn't even a little bit related to the conflict, and if you won't call it out because you think that it is, you are part of the problem. And, wouldn't you know it, this professor, Dr. Samar Maqusi, spent years working at UNRWA. What a surprise.

Dressed up as “activism” and “performance art,” this was nothing less than the revival of one of the oldest and most dangerous antisemitic tropes in history. Blood libel has fueled violence, persecution, and massacres of Jews for centuries. Seeing it resurface in our nation’s capital is both horrifying and unacceptable. The students were celebrating a Sukkot event organized by AUJS, and there were no Israeli flags nor even hostage ribbons. The antisemitism is clear, with the woman targeting the group solely because they were Jewish, using Nazi-esque dehumanizing language, invoking the medieval blood libel of the Jew as “baby killer,” and casting doubt on the Jews’ semitic origins. But what makes all of this even worse? The perpetrator was reportedly a University of Sydney staff member. She has been suspended pending further assessment. 🤯
