This is absolutely sickening to listen to. We have professors literally repeating blood libel in the classrooms. The blood libel that led to pogroms, exiles, and the holocaust. This demonizing of Jews isn't even a little bit related to the conflict, and if you won't call it out because you think that it is, you are part of the problem. And, wouldn't you know it, this professor, Dr. Samar Maqusi, spent years working at UNRWA. What a surprise.

Dressed up as “activism” and “performance art,” this was nothing less than the revival of one of the oldest and most dangerous antisemitic tropes in history. This appalling video shows a Jewish academic and Jewish students at the University of Sydney being harassed by someone apparently of palestinian Arab extraction. The students were celebrating a Sukkot event organized by AUJS, and there were no Israeli flags nor even hostage ribbons. The antisemitism is clear, with the woman targeting the group solely because they were Jewish, using Nazi-esque dehumanizing language, invoking the medieval blood libel of the Jew as “baby killer,” and casting doubt on the Jews’ semitic origins. But what makes all of this even worse? The perpetrator was reportedly a University of Sydney staff member. She has been suspended pending further assessment. 🤯

Historically, when lending money was illegal for Christians, Jews, whose professional options were limited, were often forced into this role. This led to negative stereotypes of Jews as unscrupulous lenders, encapsulated infamously in Shakespeare's hateful stereotype of a Jewish lender in The Merchant of Venice. Put aside the fact that Waters is trying to whitewash the Iranian regime, which is not by any stretch of the imagination a moral government. He is doing it by imposing the historically potent language of antisemitism onto Israel, the Jewish state. Antisemitism is dangerous. Especially when its hidden like this so it's harder to spot.

The biggest lie being pushed right now? That Israel is starving Gaza. There is no food shortage in Gaza. What’s happening is that Hamas is looting the aid, hoarding it for their terrorists, and intentionally starving civilians—then blaming Israel and counting on the world to repeat their propaganda. This is a modern-day blood libel. It’s not new, it’s just updated. For centuries, Jews were falsely accused of killing Christian babies. Today, we’re accused of killing Palestinian babies. Same hatred. Different headline.
