My (wonderful) former neighbour's cat (we moved) first used me as a sucker for food at night - until they told me he was well fed & scamming me. Then he just hung around & slept under our driveway bushes or on our deck all day. Loved him like one of our own!

I can understand why the cat prefers the neighbors. You'd think the cats "Dad" would be thankful the neighbors were okay with the cat coming into their yard.
