Elmo's monologue was written specifically for the film by screenwriter Darryl Ponicsan (THE LAST DETAIL, TAPS). Actor J. C. Quinn absolutely knocks it out of the park here. The “trick” is not to over extend, so you’d be pulling up your entire body weight. You have to keep it compact.
