I wonder if anyone else can smell the scent. Sometimes the scent remains in your mind especially if it made you feel nauseous. She might just be having a psychological reaction to it.

I am not gonna lie, this could be some form of delusion. My mother has schizophrenia and one of the prodrome symptoms was this obsession with a certain "stinky" smell she'd get from my books on my shelves. Mind you, she lost the ability to smell a long time ago.

This is almost certainly phantosmia or parosmia. It’s a symptom of long COVID that has been fairly well documented. I was having the same problem but with body odor. Realized nobody else could smell it. It’s been slowly going away since. She’s not crazy but it IS in her head.

She needs to see an ENT and stop using scent to cover up the other scent for a minute and buy a few new shirts and pants. But is sewer cidal a new thing?

Wash with just baking soda and then a cycle with vinegar. Then run a final cycle with borax and purcil with vinegar as the fabric softener.

Wash your clothes in OdoBan. People's body chemistry reacts differently with certain products. I bought a perfume that smelled wonderful on my friend, it smelled awful on me, took about 3 showers to get rid of the smell. She got a free bottle of nice perfume.
