I remember "cash for clunkers" They spun it as a great price for crappy cars What they did is destroy the cheap car market The days of a $600 dollar reliable "runner" were gone in one year. People sold those $600 reliable runners for two grand. We the people paid the price

Also for the agenda to get people to 15 minute cities and to restrict travel. Cars with all of the electronics have tracking. They even just brought up the remote kill switch going into newer vehicles. I would rather have a clunker

Destroyed the last generation of reliable used cars. Now everything is 100k throw away cars that you're expected to buy new, finance for 7 years, barely make it to paying it off before they die and have to buy a new car. They got em designed exactly like our smart phones.

A few months before "cash for clunkers" a new law that required all new vehicles to have onstar or an equivalent was enacted.... therefore, those older vehicles could not be tracked!

I remember trying to buy my teenager a car. Used cars jumped from $2000 to $4500 overnight for no good reason.

It was disgusting. And entirely not environmentally sound. The energy to make new cars exceeds the environmental cost of keeping something running.

It was a plan to strip transportation in a long con. Those cars shared common parts, were not controllable by remote, and could ram a robot army. No throttle cables, no vacuum brake boosters no Hydraulic Power steering pumps, No Hydrostatic transmissions or clutch/manual transmission options Everything on a body control module, and an override app that will stop you.

There were some really great cars destroyed with this program. It basically took out a huge portion of the 1970s cars that would still be viable options for people who could work on them for super cheap. The remaining classic cars are now $$$$$ too expensive for a lot of people to even try.

It was also an attack on cars they couldn't shut off remotely. It was a play on the long game of control. Makes me think there might be more to the lead paint removal than what they claimed. Could lead paint block x-ray type technology? Things that make you go hmmm...🤔🤷

I fell for that and got a Honda Insight Hybrid because the female thought it was cool. I dumped that slug of a car for a 15 year old Ford Escort.
