It was attempted murder, and the governor and the mayor should be held accountable and they should suffer severe consequences for their malfeasance. The government allowing and even fostering this mob violence, justifies the right of self defense by any means necessary. I am afraid that now even the threat of mob violence justifies a preemptive strike using lethal force if it feels necessary to protect yourself. Good people should be prepared to defend themselves if they are threatened by a mob, and should identify the enablers in government as an even bigger threat that needs to be neutralized.

This is the same pattern that we saw in Europe in the 1930s, mobs outside synagogues, demonization, collective blame, and now law enforcement forced into the role of physical protectors of Jewish life. You do not surround a synagogue if your issue is foreign policy. You do that when your goal is to terrorize Jews.
