This was done in less than 24h by one person using AI as the ground tooling, some post in AE and that’s it. Imagine the time and cost a real spot like this would cost. 100x less expensive due to AI.

this is Rick, and he made the video, and here is the 4K version. massive ups to @rickdeckard____ that made the above video

Weird to say, but I suddenly realised, I'm not impressed by it. Once you accept AI can do this with little to no human intervention, it has no value. Artistically, it will be worth even less when the same can be constructed by a 7-year-old typing in a few prompts. I'm not being churlish, it is just an observation of how effort is also part of the constructive process. The point is, once such complexity can be dismissed without a flicker of guilt, where do you go next? When "amazing" SFX in films became common place, they were no longer a wow factor. Just as with the art world, I would guess we will see a development of "story" over visuals, of the capture of emotion content over pure visage. Maybe, for true art, the next big thing is not the product of AI tooling or explosive visuals, but the human emotion that can be conveyed through the least amount of dynamism possible?

Looks like visual vømit, which is on-brand for these kinds of posts.

@IsntChrisL i liked it a lot, i guess i then like vomit

The ad spend is far more costly than the actual production costs in most cases for this type of ad. No doubt that AI will have an increasing role in ad production as time goes on, but initially I think it will be to generate parts to be composited in. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

that’s almost the case here, 90% is generated and 10% is composited in. this would have been a multi million dollar production if it was all traditionally done

it looks impressive and awful at the same time

Translation: I love soulless images with all the charm of stock footage. But hey, it’s cheap.

this is what happens when you mix traditional skills to fine tune everything ai does in the heavy lifting. but imo, vehicle & landscapes are easy pick’ns for generative lately

yes, but these productions are super expensive. Seat shots a lot of commercials in my neighborhood, and for .5 - 2.5 seconds of clips for a commercial there might be a crew of 50 people working for 1-3 days on location to get the required shot. that does not includes catering etc
