If made today they’d ruin it with ‘perfect’ computer graphics, losing the creepy vibe.

I watched The Terminator for the first time when I was 8 or 9, back in USSR. This was playing at 11PM and I went to the movie theatre with my mother. The only reason that this film didn't scare the absolute %$^# out of me, is because I watched Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead that morning, by myself. The Evil Dead scared me so badly, I had to walk out of the movie theatre...I still have no idea why I went back in to finish the film. #horror #film #theterminator #theevildead #samraimi

Arnold is so much better as a villain it’s a shame that it’s only the first movie he’s the antagonist

It’s getting closer to 2029 and I live very close to a trash compactor so I feel a little safer. I need to find out the closest steel mill.

The stop motion part gives it away, but it still looks great.

Underneath it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis. Fully armoured. Very tough.

"It's what he does, it's ALL he does!" The Ray Harryhausen-esque herky jerky motion of the Terminator was pure genious!

This scared the shit out of me as a kid. It still holds up SO WELL. There's something eerie and otherworldly about stop-motion.

Or was it made in 2030 and sent back in time?

Yup and the old fashion way too.. never gets old. Nowadays they whack it out in AI in minutes.. but it doesn't have the charm not like this did.. T2 is still one of the greatest movies ever made! the thumb at the end.. even as a grown ass man it still chokes me up.. Crazy man.. pure cinema.

The first time I saw The Terminator, I thought the film was over under the camera showed space to one side of Kyle and Sarah. An instant later, the Terminator rose front the wreckage. Great cinematic moment.

With practical effects, and stop-motion animation. No CGI needed. Classic.

42 year old stop motion animation holds up better than most of today's CGI.

I saw this when it first came out at the midnight movies. My friends and I were buzzed off of peppermint schnapps. Aw to be a senior in high school again. Great times!!! 😃😃👍🏼

If you're ever being chased by a slow moving cyborg, never run into an unfamiliar building, just run outside! Unless you are wanting to create a really good final scene for a movie!
