If made today they’d ruin it with ‘perfect’ computer graphics, losing the creepy vibe.

I watched The Terminator for the first time when I was 8 or 9, back in USSR. This was playing at 11PM and I went to the movie theatre with my mother. The only reason that this film didn't scare the absolute %$^# out of me, is because I watched Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead that morning, by myself. The Evil Dead scared me so badly, I had to walk out of the movie theatre...I still have no idea why I went back in to finish the film. #horror #film #theterminator #theevildead #samraimi

Arnold is so much better as a villain it’s a shame that it’s only the first movie he’s the antagonist

stop motion for the win

It’s getting closer to 2029 and I live very close to a trash compactor so I feel a little safer. I need to find out the closest steel mill.

The stop motion part gives it away, but it still looks great.

Underneath it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis. Fully armoured. Very tough.

"It's what he does, it's ALL he does!" The Ray Harryhausen-esque herky jerky motion of the Terminator was pure genious!

This scared the shit out of me as a kid. It still holds up SO WELL. There's something eerie and otherworldly about stop-motion.

Or was it made in 2030 and sent back in time?

This last part was nightmare fuel ._.

The last stop motion I ever saw in a movie.

Yup and the old fashion way too.. never gets old. Nowadays they whack it out in AI in minutes.. but it doesn't have the charm not like this did.. T2 is still one of the greatest movies ever made! the thumb at the end.. even as a grown ass man it still chokes me up.. Crazy man.. pure cinema.

The more I watch it, the more it becomes my favorite Terminator movie.

And it’s light years better than its unnecessary sequel. Yeah…I said it! Where’s my hill? Imma die on this mah’fuka

that's why James Cameron is the GOAT

The first time I saw The Terminator, I thought the film was over under the camera showed space to one side of Kyle and Sarah. An instant later, the Terminator rose front the wreckage. Great cinematic moment.

By the time the 50th anniversary comes around this will actually come true and skynet will Become aware or Claude ?

One of the best movies ever made.

When they tried to warn you that a storm was coming 😜

Let me finish the sentence properly… made in 1984 by a genius

Written by a man, who claimed it was from a vision or dream of the future.

“Why Johnny Ringo, you look like someone just walked over your grave”

Nope! It was 1997, and the machines were made in 2029. Duh!!

With practical effects, and stop-motion animation. No CGI needed. Classic.

42 year old stop motion animation holds up better than most of today's CGI.

All hail Stan Winston and his effects team.

1984 was a glorious year. It was the year, of the rise of The Terminators.

I saw this when it first came out at the midnight movies. My friends and I were buzzed off of peppermint schnapps. Aw to be a senior in high school again. Great times!!! 😃😃👍🏼

If you're ever being chased by a slow moving cyborg, never run into an unfamiliar building, just run outside! Unless you are wanting to create a really good final scene for a movie!

Quality practical effects will always blow away cgi

The original movie was more of a horror movie

This was made in 1619.

Perfect film. Zero fat

1968
