The bill’s 90-day investigation window and quarterly supply chain reports for five years reek of bureaucratic bloat. While faster contamination alerts prevent another Abbott Labs disaster, the FDA’s track record shows they’ll drown this in paperwork instead of proactive inspections. Taxpayers shouldn’t foot the bill for agencies that need legislation to do their jobs. Real reform means slashing redundant reporting mandates and letting states streamline safety checks without federal middlemen. Until then, it’s just more red tape masquerading as “parental support.”
