Following a hugely successful pilot year that reached over 150,000 young people across the UK, India, Brazil and South Africa, Formula 1® is extending its collaboration with the British Council for a further two years to deliver the F1-inspired education programme, Learning Sectors. The expanded initiative will now reach F1 host nations China, Spain and Mexico, and is set to engage nearly 250,000 students in more than 1,000 schools throughout the programme. As part of the British Council's Learning Sectors supported by Formula 1 programme, a group of 24 teachers and students, made up of two winning teams of UK secondary school students went behind the scenes at the British Grand Prix to experience the joy of F1, learn about motorsport careers and see STEM skills in action. Learning Sectors started in January 2025 and works with young people aged seven to 16 in 700 schools across Brazil, India, South Africa, and the UK aims to inspire students around the world to get involved in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) subjects. Students from The Royal School, Wolverhampton and St Martin’s School, Caerphilly were treated to a once in a lifetime experience where they enjoyed fan zone activations and exclusive tours of the Paddock and Event Technical Centre along with a pit lane walk. On the eve of the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio D’Italia, the U-Power Stadium in Monza hosted the inaugural Coppa Parabolica, a five-a-side football tournament that brought together the entire F1 family. Organised by Formula 1 and in collaboration with AC Monza, the event saw 32 teams from across the Paddock - including F1 teams, partners, broadcasters, suppliers and staff - come together for an evening of friendly competition away from the track. Congratulations to Scuderia Ferrari HP for taking home the win on the night and lifting the special edition LEGO trophy! Relive the action from an unforgettable night below.
