President of Italy Sergio Mattarella Quirinale and I discussed the security situation in Ukraine, across our Europe, and also in the Middle East and the Gulf region. I gave an overview of our agreements with countries of the region regarding security cooperation. It is important to develop a joint protection system in Europe as well. Particular attention was given to the assistance needed for Ukraine’s energy resilience, the unblocking of the decision on the €90 billion financial package for Ukraine, the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, and the negotiation clusters on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. I thank Italy for its help to Ukraine’s energy sector during this difficult winter. I thank the President for his unwavering, principled position in support of Ukraine and our people.

Beginning with the liberation of Zmiinyi Island and continuing through our operations against the Russian fleet, ports, and the occupying forces in our Crimea, we keep proving that this region – the Black Sea region and the Sea of Azov region – will never be a place of peace and quiet for Russia. On the eve of Ukrainian Navy Day, I honored our warriors defending Ukraine as part of our Naval Forces. I presented the battle flag and the ribbons “For Courage and Bravery” to Navy military units. I thank everyone for their service. And today, on the occasion of this year's Ukrainian Navy Day – and as a sign of respect and gratitude to our Naval Forces – I have made a decision for the future of Ukraine's Naval Forces and for the future of our Odesa. The decision to establish our own strong new Naval Academy in Odesa. I know this is something our Naval Forces need. We have the capacity to make it happen, and, most importantly, our cadets and our young people have the desire to serve Ukraine and defend Ukraine. We will definitely accomplish all our tasks.

I met with Masud Gharahkhani, President of the Storting, and the leaders of political parties represented in the Norwegian Parliament. We deeply appreciate that all parties are united in their support for Ukraine. We discussed the consolidation of international support at the parliamentary level and the areas of our future cooperation. I informed the MPs on the diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, the vision for a future security architecture of Ukraine and Europe, and humanitarian efforts to bring our children home. Honoured to attend the reception marking the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 🇺🇦 , at the invitation of the Defence Office at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK. General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ambassador of Ukraine, presented awards to the families of British warriors who gave their lives fighting for Ukraine and freedom, as well as to those who were wounded. Honoured to attend the reception marking the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 🇺🇦 , at the invitation of the Defence Office at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK. General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ambassador of Ukraine, presented awards to the families of British warriors who gave their lives fighting for Ukraine and freedom, as well as to those who were wounded. Today, together with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, we saw the latest Ukrainian developments – weapons and equipment created here in Ukraine to defend our state. I thank everyone engaged in this effort. We are building up our own production, and this is essential. I also met with the Defense Ministers of partner countries who came to us on Independence Day. This is a great sign of solidarity with our warriors and with all Ukrainian people. We discussed the significance of developing Ukraine’s defense industry, cooperation in various formats, and security guarantees for Ukraine, which are crucial both for the future of our state and for the security of the entire Europe. I am grateful for the support and the readiness to continue working together for the security of our country.
