Christy Walton who owns approximately two million shares of Walmart stock and derives most of her wealth from such ownership doesn’t stop advocating against Trump’s policies…. namely his immigration policies and specifically his support of ICE. It’s interesting because Walmart just happens to operate in a labor intensive sector and just happens to be facing challenging labor shortages. Coincidentally Walmart has been forced to terminate employees due to changes in immigration policies under the Trump administration. Following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on May 30, 2025, that allowed the Trump administration to revoke Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and humanitarian parole programs for hundreds of thousands of migrants from countries like Venezuela, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Cuba, Walmart began dismissing workers who could not provide updated work authorization. This primarily affected employees in Florida and Texas, where the company informed stores to identify workers with expiring work permits. The layoffs were tied to compliance with federal I-9 verification requirements, which mandate that employers verify employees’ legal work authorization. Walmart has not disclosed the exact number of affected workers. Just wondering…..that’s all …. Do your own research and form you own opinion. You might want to research what President Trump has historically done and is doing for worker real wage increase and what Walmart is has historically done and is doing for worker real wage increase. Ms, Walton is not involved in Walmart management.. Maybe my opinions and suspicions have nothing to do with Ms Walton’s position, I certainly don’t know what is in her head…. but perhaps …..maybe ……there might be a possibility that when you go out and demonstrate against a king this weekend you might just be being played by a queen.
