I actually love sociology with my entire soul. This is a doctorate level take of how sociology affects literally everyone whether or not you are aware or want it to. Everything about of our existence is interconnected. A humane understanding of sociology can help us all suck less

Literally. I had the same reaction from a student this semester when I brought up T Swift in a lecture on gender and Blonde hair. The way they jump to defend rather than take a moment to understand is brazy lol

I'm proud of my students - and it may be because they're artists - because when we had a convo about Taylor's popularity they were able to call all of this out themselves. Especially the "girlhood" part

How does someone think this critically, with both eyes open, and just get it? What has she been through? This is what “woke” means. She’s awake.
