Our last formal conversation in our previous roles — him as CEO of Nilayo Sports, and me as GCE of The Temple Company — was no different from this one: “How do we elevate sports in Nigeria?” Today’s overarching subject was the same. The only difference was our current roles. We discussed the intersection of sports and technology, particularly the development of a robust Sports Information Management System, the role of modern data centres in esports, and the immense economic value embedded within the sports ecosystem. We also explored the importance of intentional investment in sports as a tool for national development, job creation, and youth engagement.
