I don’t blame Colbert. Shadow and Maria have had romantic undertones in their relationship for years (even if they’re subtle). He said himself he’s an old fan too and has played the games, so I don’t blame him for having that interpretation too. Sonic fandom is too loud sometimes

Yeah no he might have a point. Like he kinda clutched this. Maria and Shadow 100% love each other. The question is, what type of love that is. Platonic? That of Siblings? But absolutely not romantic.

I’d say in the movie they’re best friends but in the games n shit it depends on what you’re seeing because I’ve seen the official Twitter call them siblings and then less than a week later the manga has her flat-out say she loves him in a way that’s usually meant romantically
