This is how I believe the vast majority of Democrats feel on the issue, but for some reason they aren't able to articulate it like Newsome does. No, transgender women should not play women's sports. It's simply unfair. But at the same time, we don't need to demonize them or alienate them. We need to come up with solutions that don't make them feel left out, but also keep things fair for women.
