I hate the "I Don't Need to Hire an Expert I Can Do Anything" neighbors. My son has a tree trimming business and I can tell you trees like this are removed from the top down. That's because the center of gravity on a tree filled with branches being pushed by wind is so uncertain you never know where it'll fall. You can get a way with this in a forest but not in a neighborhood.

This is not how you cut this tree down- 1. You cut the lower limbs - with a swing rope fixed up high… 2. Then you scale up to the top and slowly chop 3-5 foot lengths until it’s low 3. Then maybe a 8 foot piece and then 4. The last 10 feet till the stump 5. Then you hit it with a stump grinder…
