This woman is not going dumpster diving, she is going DUMP diving. Her local landfill has a sale once a month on a Saturday. Prices are dirt cheap. All the items for sale have been checked out to make sure they aren’t broken and that they operate properly. They... have all sorts of items that people have thrown out that are still in useable and working condition. They have bikes, tools, furniture, cement mixers, you name it. Some people said that she shouldn’t have to pay, it should be free. But, it takes time to set up a yard sale , or, landfill sale and it takes time to make sure things are working properly. Others said that they didn’t care if things worked or were still useful, that they would NEVER go shopping at their landfill. I don’t know if I could do it. I would be worried about germs. This man said this is what grinds his gears. His neighbors mow their yard but they always leave their grass clippings out in the street. 😳 He said they should be sweeping them up or blowing them back into their yard and if they don’t have a blower then use the lawnmower itself. This couple is having a wedding that will reflect who they are. They openly don’t seem to care if anyone will actually go or not. I think weddings are a celebration for everyone to join in for a special day. But I also think that offending guests before they even go might be a decision that will turn in a decision full of regret. So here’s my take on this. The way I see it is that they are going to be disappointed. I know others might argue and say that it’s selfish for the guests to not go because of the conditions set forth by the bride and groom, however it goes both ways. If they know guests won’t like the conditions of the wedding, then maybe they should compromise a little. I think they should give people options. I feel that this is going to show the bride and groom who is actually their real friends and who aren’t in their eyes. It’s bad enough the delivery people show up when they want to in that huge time frame window they give themselves but for them to claim they are out of time and refuse to do the delivery because they were running late is unacceptable. This woman was in the middle of clearing out the fridge when the delivery people finally got there. She would have had it don’t earlier had they been on time and she didn’t have to put things back because they were late. But once they got there they refused to wait a few minutes for her to re-take the items out. Whenever the appliance delivery people are late for me, there is never any consequences. I guess I should be grateful they showed up at all. It’s like they feel they are doing me such a favor by coming by even though it’s hardly ever on time. It would be so much easier at times if I could just pick it up myself and install it but when given the option to have it done for me for a few bucks I usually do that. Most of the time these appliances require more than one person and that’s why I do it. Agree or disagree that we are at their mercy. Although I’ve had instances where everything was smooth and without a hitch. I’ve had plenty of times where they are late or even damage things while trying to do their job.

If it did not happen often and I didn’t think they were trying to finesse me then I would more than likely do it. It sounds like in this case, the friend does this often and doesn’t pay her back.
