TripoSR outputs OBJs by default, which don't contain textures. The source code for the project has an option to export as GLB, which does embed color texture data, but the option isn't exposed in the UI.

I could create a fork with the mod if people are interested. Or better yet, maybe @cocktailpeanut could add the option to export to GLB in Pinokio. 🙏

Modifying it to directly output a USDZ would be ideal, but that would take some time. At least GLB to USDZ can be done quickly and for free while keeping the texture data. The web utility can be found here.

UPDATE: @cocktailpeanut updated the Pinokio TripoSR launcher to export GLB! That was FAST 🚀

the fact that you just dropped that 3d asset to convert to usdz with your fingers seems 100x more satisfying than doing this on a desktop lmao

Super cool. Someone wire it up to one step, and then to siri. (or some other voice deal). So that we can just tell it what model we want and it pops up.
