I keep reading nasty takes on the donations during Ilia's streams and his reactions about them, and, as you can expect, I wanted to comment on that. 😜 Of course, the amount of these donations is not insignificant and, considering the niche sport figure skating is, the money do actually help Ilia. It does not matter whether he would invest those in any skating gear or in his student life or in his home furniture or streamer equipment - as long as he is happy with the investment, it is all good. But his sweet happy reactions are not because of the donations per se. One can clearly hear how his voice overwhelmingly breaks down and his eyes start blickering with emotions. And this right here is not related to money, it's all about a realization Ilia is slowly coming to - that people genuinely love HIM. Not just the skater Ilia Malinin but the sweet 21-year-old Virginia boy, beyond the medals and off rink. And that he has given people so many happy moments that they would like to give him something back. Every single donation - be it $1 or $500 - is mentioned by Ilia and he keeps thanking his fans, always claiming how "blessed" he is. He often says no one needs to donate - just being on the stream is enough, wishes good night to people leaving late at night or happy birthdays, answers questions, interacts as much as possible while enjoying his game. This man was very worried and nervous about wearing his turning point USA shirt to the gym. He went out on a ledge and did it anyway. He found overwhelming love and support. People walking up to him saying they love the shirt and they love the spiritual revival that’s happening in the United States. Don’t be afraid to go out and represent how you feel and what you support. There’s always going to be haters, but there is way more of us than there is of them! Be proud!

i just hope tian is okay right now. with all the false accusations and everything that’s been happening, i can’t even imagine what he must be going through. it honestly breaks my heart thinking about how overwhelming and hurtful this situation must be for him. i really hope he knows that so many of us truly don’t care about his past relationships at all. he is a grown adult and his personal life is his own. what matters to us is the person he is, the work he does, and the happiness he brings to so many people. and the truth is that tian has already shown multiple times that these accusations are false. even a lawyer pointed out that what he posted was not just a simple lawyer’s letter but a case notice stating malicious fabrication. in the entertainment industry most celebrities usually sue for defamation of reputation, but accusing someone of malicious fabrication is much more serious. yet even with official statements and legal action, some people still choose to ignore it and keep spreading rumors as if random posts online were more believable than documents with an official seal. that’s why this situation feels so frustrating and unfair. no matter what proof is shown, some people will still try to twist the narrative. but there are also many of us who see what is really happening and refuse to believe these rumors. more than anything, i just hope he is surrounded by people who support him and that he’s taking care of himself. i hope he knows there are still so many people sending him love and standing by him. at the end of the day we love him for who he is, not for some perfect image people try to force on him. he deserves peace and support, especially during a moment like this. 🤍
