This WSJ video explains, without using the word, the “overmatch” concept. Understanding overmatch is the key to understanding the war. Israel currently winning and winning big. But Israel is better at the sprint than the marathon. Iran is running a marathon.

So they mean like a sprint as in the almost 2 years of incessant war since 10/7 during which the methodically wiped out Irans proxies leading up to the the current coup de grace? I think they’re pretty good at the marathon as well…

none of that means Iran is actually competent at marathon running.

Iran is losing launchers by the minute it doesn't matter how many stockpiles of missiles they have when they cannot launch them

Can Iran run a marathon while missing both legs? After all, it's called "I ran", not "I run".

When their launchers and air defense batteries are gone, they’re lying on a stretcher in the medical tent at mile 18.

"Conclusion" of WSJ is false ("officials need to act fast to end the war because the US & Israel cannot sit and intercept missiles for an extended period of time"). Israel is destroying ballistic missiles & manufacturing. Once accomplished, Ayatollah is left hanging high and dry.

@lennybendavid It depends what you define as the parameters of the race/marathon & when it began. #Israel has been in the marathon fighting #Iran for 20 months and has defanged all its proxies. It is in a race to remove the nuclear threat inside Iran. On both scores it is winning significantly.

Not by choice.

Didn't the exact same concerns get aired last year in respect of Israel running out of munitions for Iron Dome in the fight against Hezbollah? How did that work out? Or for that matter Ukraine's capacity to continue the air defence fight against Russia?
