It is a blessing to be able to help an elderly person. It truly is. I do have angst, though, toward the Walmarts and grocery stores that are nearly exclusively self-checkout.

Yes! This 100% my Dad. He’s 85. He doesn’t move as quickly as he used to and the grocery store is just overwhelming for him. So much so that he will no longer go. He just waits for me. Please take time out and have a little patience for seniors. It will mean the world to them.

Yes, yes, yes! I understand being busy but we all need to slow down & help each other. The employee obviously just wasn’t interested in helping. Same thing happened to mom in Walmart. The girl told her if she needed help to go to customer service while she hung out on her phone.

She’s so right! The elderly S/B treasured yet are disrespected more & more these days. Not only is this digital world challenging for them, employees have no patience to help them.I always help seniors who are struggling &let them pass in front of me in line if behind me every time.

I agree with this woman. We need more kindness, especially to the elderly. They don’t understand all the technology. It doesn’t hurt you to take a few minutes longer to help someone.

I'm an older person and I see this almost every time I go out. I try to help when I can, but I've also experienced this treatment. I still have enough spunk to handle most things on my on, but there are far to many that don't. Breaks my heart. 😥💔

She makes the telling point. Every one of us, every one, will stand someday in that man's position. Pray that when your turn comes you will be helped by someone patient & caring (they do exist even among the young). Meanwhile BE that patient and caring young person. Thank you...

Oof!! Hits at the heart!!!! All truth! Hate the thought of our elderly - at any time - feeling helpless and/or worthless😢. Really can b a wonderful feeling to be kind and help make a difference for people whose quality of life is challenged every day.

I love this story. Kindness takes but a second. I saw an elderly woman struggling to put her sock on and offered help. She was grateful for the help. I held the door for her as we were leaving and that made her smile.
