@farmtr_project Violent manhandling like this is par for the course in animal agriculture. I know, I was raised on a farm and had to do stuff like this myself before I knew better. This is why Animal farming is so strict on secrecy. They don’t want you to know what goes on behind the doors.

The average age of slaughter for a dairy cow in the U.K. is around 6 1/2 years. During this time she will have given birth ~4 times, and produced 32,000 litres of milk. Calf separation is standard practice in the dairy industry worldwide. Farmers do this so that the calves do not drink the milk meant for sale, and therefore eat into their profits. From early May: cougar grooming himself after feeding on a GPS-collared deer he killed. We have routinely captured this male on camera over the past 3 months now suggesting he has taken up residency in the area and is occupying a territory (i.e., not wandering like dispersing males typically do). Note: we have had folks ask to see more of the footage we have captured of cougars over the past few months so we will try to share more footage in the coming weeks. We captured many hours of footage at the kill where we documented the female with 3 kittens as well as at the kill in early May by this male. In addition, we have captured many videos of this male over the past few months just walking down roads and trails. All this to say, more footage to come! Huge thanks to the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund for supporting the Voyageurs Wolf Project and the recent effort to understand deer survival in the area. Their support was critical to this observation—without it, we would never have captured this footage. And huge thanks to the >10,600 donors who have supported our project and enabled us to purchase trail cameras supplies. The cameras (and batteries, SD cards, mounts) we set at this kill were purchased with funds from donations.

Pregnant cow, now named Brianna, jumps off the second floor of a truck headed to slaughter to save her baby, just 10 minutes before they get to the slaughterhouse. 🫶🏻 Brianna, a two-year-old dairy cow, used in the dairy industry and while pregnant - was being sent to be slaughtered. She broke the door of a double decker transport truck and threw herself from eight feet high in an effort to save her baby. Animal rescuer Mike of Skylands Animal Sanctuary was called to the scene and rescued Brianna. While at her new home at the sanctuary Brianna gave birth to her baby, they named the little one Winter. Mommy and baby winter are always together - even now when you see Brianna her little girl is never too far behind. ❤️

OSTRICH FARM UPDATE: Oct 8 - The WHO trade agreement is dictating the kills of livestock. The CFIA is not allowing blood tests. A detailed list of birds was given to the Vets, however the UoF has been prevented from tending to the animals leading to the death of 35 year old Spirit. The CFIA says even if they had a negative test, they will still die. Over 600 Canadian farmers have undergone massive slaughter of healthy animals. There is no legal remedy to combat this international agreement which has affected the unnecessary slaughter of livestock globally. There is a solution to this - STOP THE CULL! Fourth generation to my right, fifth to my left… and a sixth generation on the way with a wedding coming soon. It’s National Dairy Month, and we’re making real change in Washington: whole milk is back in our schools, new dietary guidelines are putting real food and dairy back at the center of policy, and U.S. dairy exports are up 17%. Without a doubt, our best trail camera capture yet: the first documented observation of a cougar with kittens in Minnesota in modern history. Turn up the volume to hear all the vocalizations. The footage, which was captured on March 25, shows a cougar with 3 large kittens while they feed on a deer they killed just south of Voyageurs National Park. We captured this surreal footage because we started a study to understand the survival and mortality patterns of deer in our area this winter. As part of that work, we GPS-collared several deer in the area in January. In late March, we received a mortality signal from a GPS-collared deer and found the carcass buried under a pile of leaves on a hillside—a tell tale sign of feline predation. We suspected it was likely a bobcat but thought, just possibly, it could be a cougar. So we put up two trail cameras on the cached deer carcass and 4 hours later, two cougar kittens returned to the kill. The entire family showed up that evening and spent hours in front of our cameras. In total, we captured 7.3 hr (435 minutes) of video footage of these animals. We will share more footage soon! New 'Axon' cameras are installed in Syracuse, with fresh data and transparency rules ----- They seem to think we'll accept mass surveillance as long as there are "rules" in place. The new Axon mass surveillance cameras do exactly what Flock mass surveillance cameras did, just wrapped in a "now with more transparency" marketing claim. But transparency doesn't stop the cameras from violating our rights. We will not allow our servants to turn our nation into digital prison. Nothing but the complete removal of all mass surveillance cameras is acceptable.
