This is a key area that we need journalists to highlight. We have drs. We don’t have enough jobs for drs. PAs and AAs were pushed because of a supposed shortage of drs. This is 100% manufactured. The question is why? Who is set to gain from this?

I'm one of these GPs facing unemployment in 2 weeks. Hence, will be moving my family abroad soon. But will probably be looking at a few months of unemployment until the eventual move. Good riddance to the NHS. I cannot understand the arrogance of the UK. Forever singing the praises of the NHS and claiming to be the only free healthcare service in the world. Its useless if its crap and free. Other part of the world like British Columbia are doing a much better job and healthcare is free for residents. Wake the fuck up.

Matthew asks how it's possible... well the NHS has a Chief Workforce, Training & Education Officer... you could ask them? But they won't respond

It gets worse 😱 listen to what this Emergency consultant has to say about Physician Associates 👇👇

Hang on …. But the gov just announced a scheme to recruit new physician associates with questionable training from Ghana , Bangladesh , Zimbabwe …. Why is this even an idea let alone gov policy if we / the NHS already got Gp’s but not employing them ? @LBC @NickFerrariLBC

I am pertrified for when my contract is up There is no one else to pay my bills, I will be really up the creek without a paddle as the job market is getting harder & harder (current Gp)

Physician associates are replacing doctors, it's important to ask if you're given an appointment, are you seeing an actual doctor, because you won't be told, it's concealed,

I have a British trained GP friend who has literally just moved to Canada as there was no job for him in UK

As a clinical lead in acute medicine, for the next phase of improving service for my department I need 10 WTE consultants . Currently we have less than 6. The northwest deanery has about 3 places per year in acute medicine for senior trainees.

if you go on indeed for example to look at job vacancies, you’ll see the amount of other people applying for the same job and it’s often in the hundreds. a lot of people are fighting tooth and nail to get a job where they’ll be underpaid anyways. competition ratio has exploded
