seeing the massive gap in understanding between people who utilize frontier models an enterprise level and social media "thinkers" who's benchmark of LLMs is still 4o is hilarious

Annoying and dumb video. They are trying to relieve competitive pressure through regulation so they can extract monopoly rents without all this investment and with less risk. Monopolistic behaviour explains why they are ASKING for regulation, which this video doesn't explain.

Nice video, but really cherry-picked to fit your angle. The fact that their revenue went up doesn't mean their spending went down (it actually increased). Both companies are still knee-deep in the red (not profitable at all), and cash-flow positive isn't happening anytime soon.

breaks down after the ipo bit bc leftists definitely have no idea what a company needs to disclose ahead of going public

The argument that Anthropic needs to spend less on training to become profitable is not crazy. The easiest way to not have to spend is regulatory capture to protect their advantage by enforcing a 'slowing down'.

It's kind of interesting to see both perspectives that I disagree with here. On the one hand, she's obviously incorrect for assuming that the whistleblower is wanting government regulation so that they could receive a government backstop after he left the company. But on the other hand, I think you assuming that that automatically meant bubble popping — I could see how you'd make the connection there, and I agree that probably is what she thinks. But it's so weird living in the actual world where the vast majority of everyone who thought the whistleblower was larping or lying are effective accelerationists who believe AI is going to take the markets to Valhalla. So this was very... it was like watching two people argue with something nobody is saying in the shower. It's very interesting.

You lost me at anthropic is at 60 billion annualized but you also say that's fake. Care to explain? @grok is this right?

There’s a secret third option: AI works, Anthropic and OpenAI do have the best models for now, but they have no longterm moat against China and open source, so they are playing up AI risk in a bid to be the sole responsible custodians of AI.

If you think their revenue is fake then you're missing some information. I spend £400 on AI every month and that's low compared to many engineers. That's just one SWE, it says nothing about integrated token spend. Do you realise how much businesses are spending on AI right now?

Except she's just retarded cause Anthropic is literally getting heat right now for cooking their financials.

Wow, tens of billions of revenue? They must be making a lot of profit, right? Right?

“Fighting against slopulism” by being as retarded as it is, lol. No, what they are all trying to do (including Elon, because he has an insane amount of compute) is ban open-source models through a regulatory regime that will be stewarded by NGOs that are funded by the same people who own Anthropic and OpenAI. Enterprises are already switching, and that will hurt their revenue (which is fake, due to them inflating token usage).Take METR: it spun out of ARC Evals, which was started by Open Philanthropy, which was founded by Karnofsky (I wonder where he works) and Moskovitz (Series A funder).

I couldn't believe your post. Great post

Rip

It’s this simple why did the same group that called the tech “useless” and “shit”, switch within a matter of a day to “this is gonna kill all of us we need to slow down” ?

The conventional wisdom has broken down under the speed of the changes AI is creating

@ctjlewis nice straw man arguments you made there. what matters is rates, exclusively rates. what’s the rate of growth vs projected, or in this case promised.

lol yes they have to publish their financials and how do you think they are going to look to retail investors when the post show revenue vs expenses huh? It’s common knowledge that neither company is the black and heavily subsidizing model use for users, you think a $1.2T valuation is going to hold up on losses 😭

Give it up honey

glad to see you here

Seemingly Joomer

I like these reaction videos attaching sweeping narratives to every 1% change in stock price

Lady, chips did not have their worst day in months. Right out the bat she's done f'd up. There was a massive deleveraging event in July that flattened the market. Aside from a few rallies here and there, the semi market hasn't been the same since. It was honestly tame on Monday

What exactly is the revenue model?

Nvidia is making money no matter what, modern models use less resources and that won't stop hardware expansion just slow it down, the regulation request is to stop competition from local AI which can achieve good results on consumer hardware making the cloud push a bad investment

FACTS

excellent!

Do you not think the impact of sulfur being trapped in the gulf foreseeable future has not impact on companies whose products are reliant on sulfur?

This is logical but what u aren’t accounting for is the tech oligarchy holding up a business front while they build out the surveillance state.
