Thomas Sowell has long argued that good intentions don’t guarantee good outcomes. California is a perfect example of why housing policy, regulations and incentives matter. Indonesia is rich overflowing with natural resources yet that wealth never truly reaches its people. It spins only within the hands of greedy rulers and corrupt officials. The red and white flag is far too sacred... For a government this filthy.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is considered the world's richest country in terms of wealth in natural resources. Most of the raw mineral deposits remain untapped. These deposits include the world's largest coltan reserves and considerable amounts of cobalt.

I'm always fascinated by this argument. Congo has a lot of resources, and they want to cut off the purchasers of these resources because they feel like they're being exploited. 1. Congo primarily makes its money selling its resources. 2. Congo doesn't have the technological capabilities to ever develop Apple, Samsung, or Tesla-level technology to complement its natural resource surplus.
