CAPITAL CRIME: The real reason that crime is out of control in Washington DC is because the prosecutor elected by the people doesn't believe in arresting criminals. He focuses on the root causes of crime - which is never a bad idea - but until you address those root causes you've got to arrest and punish the bad guys. If you don't they just keep committing crimes. Attorney General Brian Schwald told residents that you "can't arrest our way out of crime" during a panel discussing earlier this year. h/t End Wokeness

The overwhelming majority of violent crimes are committed by a really small number of people & we know who they are…because they keep committing crimes. Over 50% of urban crimes are committed in less than 5% of city locations. Get those criminals off the streets, it’s really not that hard.

It’s not 13% of the population responsible for 50% of violent crime. If you adjust for age demographics, 0.01625% of the population is responsible for around 33% of all crime and about 50% of violent crime. Absent fathers, thug culture, and judges and prosecutors who don’t lock criminals up are letting millions of innocent people be victimized every year to cater to a tiny percentage of criminals.
