Those cute monsters become plants when you water their seedling after defeating them. Earn additional shells randomly by growing them in the free 'Shallow Pond' demo on Steam. My first game as a solo dev after 20 years in games and it works nicely on #steamdeck 🎮❤️ #cozygame

Hi ! Your game look so nice, i love the vibes, i'll try it! Have to say, as a solo game dev currently working on my first game, you are inspiring.

that's nice of you to say, thanks JAK! I try to be helpful and a nice person in the middle of this very strange world that surrounds us. I wish you all the best for your own game! 😊

Sorry, i have another suggestion. What about giant seeds you grab, trow whit the water, and smash into the ground, and grow into something helpful for movility?

I always welcome ideas, thanks 😊. Will think about that. Every idea I add changes the scope, so I'm very careful not to overdo it!

Sorry for another suggest. If there was to be Desert or Volcaninc Level, whose gimmick is drain the water gauge, what about sprinklers that refils the water gauge? i dunno, im really passionate about giving away suggestions. Sorry

that's nice of you, thank you! 🙂

I've been following this project for a while. It's been really cool to see what it's become! Keep it up!

thanks Brian, I will! And all best for your own projects and teaching as well!

Thanks!

Cute plant monsters idea... how does the seedling growing mechanic work exactly?

in the demo, it's the basic feature where you get random coins when growing the plants 2 steps. But the functionality is there to grow different plant types in certain areas or by certain monsters.

This is so charming! Please tell me the core concept and charm are all you (maybe AI-assisted to speed up). Seeing this video among tons of artificial soulless single-prompt prototypes is a breath of fresh air!

Thanks Leo, yeah it's all mine and I work solo. No AI, just passion. Nice to hear that, you made my day ❤️

Sounds like a complex but rewarding system! How are you balancing the unity?

Thanks for the reply! Scope is always the tricky part. What's one feature you're most excited to add?

well, the current excitement is more about carefully bringing all of those gears into position for them to build a system of unity that's having exactly the right kind of complexity 🙂
