Yesterday was $5 Friday… and we only received two donations. Just two. And if I’m being honest, that one stung a little. Because out here it’s been cold, cold, cold — the kind of cold that seeps into your bones. The kind where propane tanks empty fast and straw has to be replaced every single day just to keep little bodies warm and safe through the night. Every day right now costs more than most people realize. Propane. Straw. Feed. Gas. Supplies. And tomorrow is February… which means all of our bills hit at once. And the hard truth is this — if we don’t pay those bills, the rescue ceases to exist. No sanctuary. No warm beds. No second chances. That thought alone keeps me up at night. But today is $10 Saturday, and we’re choosing hope. Hope that our village shows up. Hope that the people who love these animals help us keep going. After many long hours of trying to reassure my daughter, Rafif, that the medicine in her mother’s hand is there to help her recover and come back to us healthy, I’m grateful to say that she finally understood. The sweetest moment was when Rafif started kissing her mother’s hand, as if she were praying for her to get well soon. These may seem like small gestures, but for a little girl carrying so much fear and love in her heart, they mean everything. Rafif wanted to be part of this video herself. Again and again, she tried to hold the phone in her tiny hands, eager to help record this special moment. What made her even happier was the arrival of her aunt and her cousins, who came to spend a few days with us. Seeing her play and laugh with children her own age gave her a little escape from the harsh reality we continue to live through. Thank you to everyone who keeps our family in your prayers and stands by our side. Your kindness and support give Rafif and our family the strength to keep going. ❤️

i love how hyunsuk reminds us to do or give something to ourselves too especially on our birthdays 🥹❤️‍🩹 🦔 (…) but the one that comes to mind right away is, for your birthday, writing a self-birthday letter to yourself. how about giving that a try? 🦔because you might write a journal entry, or leave a note in your diary, but writing a letter to yourself is something you very rarely get to experience in life It's that kind of event, right? 🦔 having someone celebrate you is something to be grateful and happy about, but a celebration letter that you write for yourself would feel really different, i think… so i think writing one just for yourself would be fun 🦔 and as a little extra, giving yourself a gift too would be nice. i always make sure to do it every birthday 🦔 but even if it's not anything grand, even if it's not some big material thing, "i worked hard this past year, and for the year ahead, keep going strong"! with that meaning, buying yourself a gift, one at a time, turns out to be a huge motivation… (bonus: his message to MAY teume celebrants last time) 🦔 honestly, even if it isn’t your birthday, i hope you live every day joyfully as if it were your birthday, believing that happiness is always by your side. as if every day is your birthday. i really hope you can do that…
