I'm a Bombers fan but I can see the difference. From Razor Ray, when McGrath RECIEVED the ball the defender was >9m from the goal line so McGrath "had time". But with the Hawks, the #10 defender was <9m to the line, so he could cross whenever. It's shit but Ray explained it well.

This issue is the first one. As fans we don’t want umpires controlling games, but the first one puffs his chest out and has to insert himself. Both should be no free kick. Less is more and that’s the issue atm, to many rules and too many free kicks!! Just let them play!!
