And finally, a note on time-wasting. At the start of the season, referees promised to clamp down on cynical ‘game-management’. This clearly doesn’t apply when we’re losing. The ball was barely in play in the 2nd half, the ref allowed them to completely kill the game.

Couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying. We were piss poor don’t get me wrong but them clips there show we could have had numerous free kicks in dangerous positions if not a penalty which could cause them problems . The officials this year have been a joke.

The contrast between the ref in our Coventry game and the one on Sunday was marked. It's lack of consistency amongst refs, and the apparent bias towards "bigger" clubs that grates. Howard Webb has a massive long-term job on his hands.

I was there with the boys, wanted millers to win but not die heads as our team is Celtic. The referee had absolutely no outcome on the result but he was absolutely dreadful in terms of his decisions against Rotherham for the whole game, I said this to my dad when we got home.

I'm so glad you posted this thread. It proves my tweet from yesterday that #swfc fans jumped on so much was correct. Got some right dogs abuse when I said ref was one of worst all season and he only gave decisions one way.

The ref was bad for both teams, and inconsistency is rife throughout every division in the country. Wednesday have had some absolute shocking performances by officials it’s certainly not just a Rotherham issue. We got free kicks for nothing, but got nothing for blatant fouls too
