They signed him to be the backup up. He is still the backup

That's pretty funny actually

Keeping aside Stink hasn't liked the Giants going back to his Redskins & Broncos playing days (bye-bye perfect season in 1998), he's leaving out a key point. Drew Lock, by all accounts, has looked bad in practice. He looked bad in his short time in preseason & vs Philly.

He was signed to be the backup if Jones couldn’t start season or Jones got hurt early. Now that the team is 2-8 they want to see what TD can do the rest of the way. Also makes me think Lock struggled picking up system

He's still the backup😎

Yea Mark Scherleth in 2007 from week 2 on called for the Giants to bench Eli for Jared Lorenzen (RIP) and then they won the Superbowl and he looked dumb, which he consistently does. Hes hated the Giants since. Guys a joke- which is why his broadcasting career is reduced to this

This is a financial move. Plain and Simple. Performance hasn't been there for Jones and from what we know, isn't for Lock either. No news one way or the other for that. Regardless. Performance has been abysmal for 2 seasons. and the BEST statistical output for Jones specifically, was in 22, where they went 9-6-1 and he only had 3200yds passing. He did have 700 on the ground and 7, but even still, it was about as average as the day is long.

And play but right now it's everything

The sentiment is accurate. Some of the theatrics are a bit off base. It is a heavy concern though and strong leadership in an organization is a real thing. And it matters.

I understand the premise of what he’s saying BUT at the end of the day the coaching staff has responsibility to do what is best for the team for that year and the future. Playing DJ based on his injury gurantee/his body of work this year would’ve been malpractice. I think based on what we’ve seen of Drew Lock in a limited sample size this year/whatever they’ve seen in practice for them has made them feel empowered to go to DeVito. I would say this is more of a situation where you put your faith in the coaching staff evaluating its own players.
