Thoughts on Coach Ditka

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL Ditka was drafted by Halas, won the '63 championship with Halas, and then was hired by Halas as coach. This is what passing the torch means. A sad day for Bears nation ie, fans, players and former players/coaches.

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL @KyleBrandt, other than maybe Cruise in Top Gun, did anyone in history pull off aviators better than Ditka? I don't think so.

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL NFL prolly punching air rn that they moved the game to 12. Ben knows what needs to be done.

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL Certain football names bring a whole generation of Sunday afternoons back. Ditka is one of them. 🤍🏈

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL See this. This is your IQ buddy. I know I’m smarter that that sum b*tch 😆

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL I caddied at Buttefield CC in the 80s and 90s. THis is absolutely true, @KyleBrandt. As much as he loved golf, Ditka was a SAVAGE card player. Few were as competitive. RIP Coach, the heartbeat of Chicago.

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL Daaaa Bears

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL We loved Ditka in New Orleans…. We really looked past the fact that he did not win here… he was iconic …. Crazy as hell like us in New Orleans but really really a different dude…. Perfect for New Orleans…. Rest in peace Coach 🥲😇🙏

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL One of three Hall of Famers from tiny Aliquippa, PA

If only the draft Mike Ditka for Senate effort in 2004 had succeeded! A SurveyUSA poll had Obama leading Ditka by only 7 points. In October 2013, Ditka said not running for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat against Barack Obama in 2004 was the “biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Not that I would have won, but I probably would have. And he wouldn’t be in the White House.” Republicans unsuccessfully drafted Ditka to run after the nominee, primary winner Jack Ryan, withdrew. Ditka ultimately declined citing his sports broadcasting commitments and schedule. Obama went on to defeat Alan Keyes, who was successfully drafted to run for Senate in 2004. Obama was successfully drafted to run for @POTUS in 2008 despite his repeated and public disavowals between 2004 and 2006.

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL Thank you for representing how a lot of chicagoans are feeling. Said with heart. Well done!

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL THE GOAT TE He’s the OG that everyone is trying to catch up to And the fact that he’s not mentioned FIRST at all times is a travesty

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL nice words Kyle. He was a helluva guy, Go Bears!

@gmfb @nflnetwork @ChicagoBears @ESPNNFL Used to see him at butterfield when I was a kid. It was akin to seeing Indiana Jones or Han Solo in real life to young Bears fan. Like he stepped off the silver screen into the real world ala the last action hero. RIP Coach
