Yes, I know the movie is bad. But I’m talking about this particular scene.

Recommend to not watch this. It’s Hollywood sensationalism which always exaggerates and demeans and presents sacrilegious content about the Catholic Faith. Spoiler for ending I hear they elect a transgender woman for pope. Horrible.

The film is bad, and its premise is deeply anti-Catholic. Ironically, Cardinal Tedesco — clearly written to be the villain — ends up as the film’s unintended hero, the only truly Catholic figure among the cardinals.

So I’ve heard. I only became interested in it because (allegedly) Pope Leo XIV watched it before the Conclave.

In as much as the Cardinals in that film are generally a mess, Tedesco is accidentally the only solid leader in the whole bunch. Plus, in the spirit of St. Philip Neri, he's always amusing to watch even when he's not making excellent points.

>Don't pick sides >But also, pick a side for the future instead of the past This mental trick is tiresome at this point.

The guy who's been a Cardinal for a cup of coffee gives a dramatic speech and then they all elect him Pope. Movie was garbage.
