In fairness the 2nd putt after the spikes almost lipped. The first three were center cut.

In perfect conditions, spike marks don't affect puts. In sub optimal conditions on normal courses that the average golfer plays, you can straight up leave and indentation the size of your foot in their line. Also, it's about respect.

It's not the spikes. It's the weight of golfers that compacts and depresses the soil. Depending on conditions this can be significant.
