There’s no greater sign of weak character and lack of respect then shaking someone’s hand with a limp grip.

If I was dating a man's daughter, I would expect nothing less. Call me old school, but I show respect to the father and demonstrate that I am worthy of her hand.

I swear he is just waiting for one of these guys to have some balls and kiss her on the drive way while the silhouette of Rambo hovers over them 🤣

I would be pissed off if a grown man tried to intimidate my son this way for no reason.

Doing the Father's work right there. Damn, when you consider he coulda been sharpening a Rambo knife or cleaning a .50cal ...as is tradition in the South... He's being pretty nice.

A firm handshake is the cornerstone of knowing what kind of man a guy is. I have always believed the first handshake, and eye contact will tell you almost everything you need to know. @garthbrooks did a wonderful intro on the importance of handshake 🤝.

As a dad what I hear in their voices is still thankfulness for the methodology well also playfully complaining about it and they can’t fully articulate just why yet. He gets it and holds the line without the need of explaining.

This is how it should be. The guy with nothing to hide, with good intentions, will come back for more.... That's the guy that will be the best for his daughters. Dad is a deterrent to guys with bad or novel intentions... Girls, make use of him!

These women are stupid. Never tell a man what the father expects from him. Daughters foolishly think they are slick & can use words to help men understand the necessary actions or circumstances needed to convince their father that the man they like should be around. That is farthest from the case. Whatever they advise that man to do to please their father will never match the character, actions or circumstances necessary for the father to approve of him. They would understand that as men & probably why they didn’t return. Men understand consequences.

I’m just going to say it. That is a legit litmus test. A limp, wimpy handshake is a five-alarm-fire Red Flag to an actual man. Facts.

I learned this lesson when I was way younger. Always shake w/a firm grip and make eye contact. Not saying it’s an Alpha thing but more of a confidence thing. Glad to meet you and respect you now let’s do business.

This is an enduring tradition for a reason. It scares away the guys who don’t believe they are good enough and the ones who don’t have good intentions.

I taught my younger cousin when he was 15 to always shake hands tightly. Now he destroys my hand every time and I'm proud he does.

Sure, he was Rocky and Rambo, but he’s also 5 foot six. I think they’re over playing how intimidated these guys were. They may be just didn’t show up again because they weren’t that into it.

Can we talk about why Stallone's leg looks like a twig? Being able to wrap your hand entirely around your ankle isn't normal.
