No pad on the sled is great for hand placement and emphasizing strike zone. Chute has no other relevance than having a visual cue to sink hips and short stride when approaching the ball carrier. A good drill!

I like it…it puts emphasis on the near shoulder to near hip teaching progression.

I like it, but I question the sanity of the coach letting them hit him. Use a player, so they can get used to contact as well.

I like it, but I’m sure they can get a pop bag instead of having dude take all those hits lol

If your strike point is good no need for the chute but I can see using it early on in camp maybe.

Several good skills being taught in the drill: Great separation, push drive to the edge, great power position before working to and through the tackle. If you have it use it… it’s a great tool for a quality rep.

@JustinYaron we need to add the shock and chute to the peanut punch drill!! 😍

Breadth of experience isn’t a bad thing but…Personally, I’d prefer the target that I’m striking to play the most significant role in depth change. The chute appears arbitrary to me, but I don’t see a path to unintended consequences in using it.
