Security forces then used force against unarmed protesters, resulting in deaths, injuries, and dozens of additional detentions. Such repressive actions by the de facto authorities and their backers will not deter our people from exercising their legitimate and peaceful right to express themselves.

These are NOT protesters. But trained armed men. After yesterday’s terrorist act in Sarableh, this marks the 2nd security incident in Ilam Province over the past 2 days. Provincial security and law-enforcement authorities are currently investigating and managing these incidents.
