Horrific scenes from Al-Mukalla in Hadramout today. The de facto authorities banned a peaceful protest, carried out politically motivated detentions beforehand, and deployed heavily armed security forces to block roads and prevent citizens from gathering. Security forces then used force against unarmed protesters, resulting in deaths, injuries, and dozens of additional detentions. Such repressive actions by the de facto authorities and their backers will not deter our people from exercising their legitimate and peaceful right to express themselves.

🇮🇷| Following yesterday’s incident in Sarableh, Ilam Province: Today a group of armed & masked individuals attacked service, administrative, and military centers in the Malekshahi area of Ilam Province. • According to local sources, these individuals, who looked similar to takfiri groups, used semi-heavy weapons and carried out assaults on several facilities in the area. These are NOT protesters. But trained armed men. After yesterday’s terrorist act in Sarableh, this marks the 2nd security incident in Ilam Province over the past 2 days. Provincial security and law-enforcement authorities are currently investigating and managing these incidents.
