THREAD: We've been working on @UCL_SPROCKET to improve services for children with complex health needs. As part of that, we worked with parents to capture some of their lived experience in 3 animations. This one highlights how *everything* is a fight - it's exhausting. 1/5

SPROCKET is focused on improving services (inc health, education, social care, employment, housing...) at key transitions such as first diagnosis, starting school, moving house, turning 18... But parents also told us about the transition less often acknowledged... 2/5

Parents shared many stories highlighting specific aspects of challenges they faced. Some of them have been captured in this animation. Parents also expressed hope that improvements are possible, and came up with several ideas on how a better system would look. 3/5

@UCL_SPROCKET I'm tearing up watching them because it's so accurate. Usually when you push back on those not helping your mental health gets brought up and then your "Anxious Mum" who has to watch all her concerns come true while nobody else could have predicted this.

@UCL_SPROCKET Not locking them down in their homes would have been a great start…unfortunately people like you did that
