TikTok just released new terms of service and make all accounts agree to them. American ran them through AI, here’s the breakdown - You can't be critical of political figures - Political groups could be blacklisted. A lot of the violation could be so it's subject to interpretation, their interpretation - In matters of social unrest or crisis, they can just change the rules, shut it down completely, whatever they decide to do - You're not allowed to mention other platforms, anything misleading, even if it's a joke. Can't tell jokes anymore because somebody might be confused - You are not allowed to criticize religion - There's a ban on dangerous stunts, so no more Nicki Minaj challenges with the high heels - You're not allowed to say sexy on your live feeds - You're also not allowed to say any brand names - You can't use AI to edit something or make it more realistic - You can't do anything funny with your pet if it's staged, they can say no, that's a violation - Can't have anything to do with being too skinny. No more skinny talk. - The prevention of harm. If they deem it that it could hurt somebody financially or emotionally, that rule is very vague and subject to just whatever they feel like saying - They can pull your video from the FYP page without deleting it, just calling it ineligible - They can decide if your video is not suitable for under 18 - They can change the rules on the fly, depending on where you're viewing from, like your geographic location. - Showing flags or logos in any kind of speech or using objects like, you know, how some people hold up the papers and stuff, that won't be allowed anymore. - If they decide your video helps a banned group, whoever they choose to ban, if they decide that you're helping them, that's a violation - If someone picks a fight with you and you do a clap back, that's a violation - If you've done things on a different platform, that's a violation - On TikTok now they reserve the right to limit who can search your videos, depending on if they like the content or not - If you win an appeal now, it doesn't mean that you're going to get back on the for you page. That doesn't. That doesn't matter anymore. You can win, but they still reserve the right to not show your video on the fyp - If you post a link, that can get your account banned completely. Not even a violation, just banned. “This is just crazy. This goes to, in fact, in effect September 13th. I think that's also when they're supposed to roll out the new TikTok for the United States. That'll probably have more rules than this one.”

Peter Lynch, the man who turned $20 million into $14 billion running Fidelity's Magellan Fund, averaging 29.2% annual returns for 13 straight years (Save this). And his most famous lesson is the simplest one: "Know what you own, and know why you own it." He's talking about something that happens every day, people spend hours researching which refrigerator to buy. They'll spend days hunting for the best airfare deal to save $50 then they'll hear a stock tip on the bus and drop $10,000 on it without a second thought. "The reason I own this is the sucker is going up" Lynch said that's the actual answer he gets when he presses most investors on why they own a stock and that, he says, is not a reason. His test is brutal and simple, if you can't explain to a 10 year old in two minutes or less why you own a stock, you shouldn't own it because if you don't understand the business, you have no idea when to hold, when to add, or when to sell. You're just riding price movement blind. This is why most retail investors lose money not because they pick bad stocks but because they panic out of good ones during normal volatility. When you don't understand why you own something, every 10% dip feels like a reason to sell. Lynch built his entire career on the opposite approach, find simple businesses, understand exactly what they do, know why they'll be worth more in five years, and hold with conviction while everyone else panics. The most important thing isn't your stock screener or your price target but rather being able to look at what you own and say, I understand this, I know why it goes up, and I can handle it going down 30% without losing my mind.

"So the easiest thing that I want everyone listening [to do], whether you have one follower or a hundred followers, is to reject inclusive language. Every time media, social media, Hollywood, any of these legacy, left-wing legacy media, when they tell you you can't say something, that is your sign to say that. Whatever they say you can't say, say more of it. Whatever they say you can't bring that up, bring that up more. What you cannot do is to acquiesce. Because once they can control your thoughts, they can control your words and they control your words. They control your habits and your character. And if you're sick of all the things that you're seeing, it starts with you. It starts with your mind. And that's the best advice I can give because that's training your mind to make courage a habit. Reject inclusive language, guard your empathy. And when you do that and you say what they say you can't say or shouldn't say, and you say it anyway, then you've trained your brain to make courage a habit. Once you take that path you will never go back, meaning that if you make courage a habit and you start speaking truth and you start going, I don't care what anybody calls me, call me a racist bigot. It means nothing to me. You might as well say I have like three eyes. It doesn't mean anything to me. If you get to that point, then you'll never go back to self-silencing yourself. If you can overcome that then you're you're on your way to helping make it make a change in this country." Alvin Lui of Courage Is A Habit 💪 🔗

Jordan Peterson on how to know who your real friends are: 1. Here's the weird test most people miss: you can tell them good news and they'll actually help you celebrate. that sounds easy. it isn't. tell most people something good happened to you and they give you a little whack, then start talking about the great thing that happened to them three years ago. or worse, the great thing that happened to someone they know. 2. the good ones let you have your win. that's rarer than you think. some people, you're almost afraid to admit something good happened, because the second you let it be known, they'll try to take it away. 3. the other test is bad news. you can tell them and they'll just listen. they won't tell you why you're stupid, why it's your fault, why something worse happened to them once. they don't derail the whole thing. they just listen. 4. hanging around people who pull you down is attractive, and that's the trap. you don't have to take any responsibility. you can all whine together about how wretched life is. no accountability, no effort. feels good short term. it's a terrible long term plan. 5. so surround yourself with people who want the best for the best part of you. and if someone won't move toward anything better, keeps doing the same damn things, going nowhere, you have both the right and the responsibility to walk. putting up with it isn't kindness. that's enabling. you're giving it your tacit approval.
