Goa Police! OP tilve Gajanan : This is a painful reminder of what happens when those entrusted with protecting the people forget their duty. A group of students from a college in Bardez reached Anjuna Police Station at around 2:00 PM to file a complaint. They weren't asking for favours. They weren't creating trouble. They were simply exercising their legal right to seek justice. Instead of being heard, they were made to wait for hours. No officer entertained their complaint. To make matters worse, they were threatened with arrest for no valid reason. At around 6:00 PM, these students called me. I could hear the fear and helplessness in their voices. I immediately reached the police station to stand beside them. When I asked the officer a simple question "Why has there been such a delay in taking their complaint?" his response was, "Who are you to question me?" That sentence says everything that is wrong with the mindset of a few who believe power is above accountability. A police station is not anyone's private property. It belongs to the people. Every officer wears the uniform to serve the public, not to intimidate them. The saddest part is that because of the actions of a few such officers, the image of the entire police force gets tarnished. There are countless honest, dedicated and compassionate police officers who work day and night to protect society. They too suffer when arrogance and abuse of authority by a handful of individuals destroy the public's trust. Perhaps some are emboldened by recent statements insulting the youth of Goa by calling them "termites." But let me say this loudly and clearly: The youth of Goa are not termites. They are the strength, the conscience and the future of this State. If standing with students against injustice makes me a target, so be it. You may threaten me with arrest. You may misuse your authority. You may try to silence our voices. But understand one thing... I WILL NEVER STOP STANDING WITH THE PEOPLE. I AM NOT AFRAID. Because fear protects injustice. Courage protects people and as long as I have a voice, I will continue to speak for every student, every youth, and every citizen who is denied dignity, respect and justice.

Mafia Tycoon Exposed The mafia tycoon and kingpin of Chinatown has been exposed, along with his alleged police protection unit. The illegal sugilite buyer, Chen Zuming, who works for a Hong Kong-based boss known as Kingsam, was recently visited by members of the DOP political party and affected employees from a company defrauded of millions of rands by Chen. The company representatives arrived at Chen’s hardware store, but he fled the scene, and his employees refused to call him. Later, Chen called and allegedly said that “no one can fing do anything to him”*, boasting that he would summon the police officers he pays monthly to arrest the company directors. Shortly after his call, numerous police vehicles reportedly arrived to his aid — including Acting Station Commander Kanal Sithole from John Vorster Square Police Station. According to witnesses, Sithole entered the building and began accusing the company directors of not being worth the money they claimed Chen owed them. He allegedly refused to hear their side of the story and instead ordered their arrest — seemingly in favour of the illegal Chinese mafia operation. The arrested individuals, including members of DOP, were initially charged with intimidation. However, when their legal representatives attempted to apply for bail, Sithole allegedly returned to the station and instructed officers to add a public violence charge to ensure they remained in custody. Meanwhile, Chen, who is accused of illegally moving sugilite worth approximately R500 million, remains a free man — reportedly protected by high-ranking officials whom he claims are “his police force.” We call on the Chinese Embassy and South African justice system to investigate this matter, including the actions of the Station Commander and his team. The accused were denied police bail after being detained for more than 38 hours, and were allegedly threatened with additional charges. A case of unlawful arrest and assault will be opened by the victims, who claim they were unlawfully detained in favour of a Chinese tycoon who regularly bribes local police officials. The affected company directors have vowed to continue fighting for justice, stating that no threats or captured police forces will stop them until they recover their money and the mafia is behind bars.

According to witnesses, Sithole entered the building and began accusing the company directors of not being worth the money they claimed Chen owed them. He allegedly refused to hear their side of the story and instead ordered their arrest — seemingly in favour of the illegal Chinese mafia operation. The arrested individuals, including members of DOP, were initially charged with intimidation. However, when their legal representatives attempted to apply for bail, Sithole allegedly returned to the station and instructed officers to add a public violence charge to ensure they remained in custody. Meanwhile, Chen, who is accused of illegally moving sugilite worth approximately R500 million, remains a free man — reportedly protected by high-ranking officials whom he claims are “his police force.” We call on the Chinese Embassy and South African justice system to investigate this matter, including the actions of the Station Commander and his team. The accused were denied police bail after being detained for more than 38 hours, and were allegedly threatened with additional charges. A case of unlawful arrest and assault will be opened by the victims, who claim they were unlawfully detained in favour of a Chinese tycoon who regularly bribes local police officials. The affected company directors have vowed to continue fighting for justice, stating that no threats or captured police forces will stop them until they recover their money and the mafia is behind bars.

First, we want to know who paid for the threatening letter from the law firm Carter-Ruck — effectively a SLAPP — that was sent to Times Higher Education in an attempt to get journalist Jack Grove to stop asking Professor Arday questions about his academic record. Was it Jason Arday himself? The University of Cambridge? Or the Good Law Project? Second, we want to know who reported both the academic and former professor David Harris and Times Higher Education journalist Jack Grove to the police, alleging harassment after they began asking Arday questions about his academic and extracurricular record. In David Harris’s case, the Metropolitan Police referred the complaint to Devon and Cornwall Police, which rightly decided there was nothing to investigate. But in Jack Grove’s case, he was contacted by the police and informed that he had been the subject of a four-month investigation by the Met. While officers said they would be taking no further action, he was told he should refrain from questioning Jason Arday again because it was also affecting Arday’s mental health. The police should never be telling journalists whom they can and cannot question — particularly when there are legitimate questions that need answering. Powerful people should not be able to use the police to silence journalists and academics who are simply asking questions and doing their jobs. The Free Speech Union has written to Sir Mark Rowley, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, to ask what on earth his officers were playing at. He has yet to reply. Today, I wrote to the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police to inform him that I now have no choice but to begin legal action against his proven Pakistani rape gang protecting police force. Sir Stephen Watson needs to understand this clearly: a National Inquiry is coming. I will testify. I will name names of corrupt officers, complicit officials, and cowardly politicians. And no amount of harassment will stop what’s coming. Oldham Police (GMP) already have the contact details for my legal representative.
