Entropy was at the heart of a recent multi-million dollar crypto hack. What does it mean? In late 2022, the Ledger Donjon, discovered a vulnerability in the Trust Wallet browser extension. The bug made every wallet created by the extension recoverable from its public address. The Donjon reported the issue responsibly and the software was patched. Cryptography is hard and the part almost nobody thinks about, generating high quality randomness, is where the true safety of your crypto is determined. That is why Ledger build on certified Secure Elements specifically to access the best cryptographic primitives, including a True hardware RNG. The TRNG leverages chaotic physical phenomena on silicon to produce genuine entropy.
