"'Three Colors: White' (1994) is about equality understood as a contradiction. We understand the concept of 'equality', that we all want to be equal. But I think this is absolutely not true. I don't think anybody really wants to be equal." --- Krzysztof Kieślowski

Rest of the quote: "Everybody wants to be more equal. There's a saying in Polish: There are those who are equal and those who are more equal. That's what used to be said during Communism and I think it's still being said." ('Kieslowski on Kieslowski', Edited by Danusia Stok)

Blanc is one of the best film ever made. Ever time I watch it my life reset. And I smile at the genius of Kieślowski.

We tried so hard to create a society that was equal, where there'd be nothing to envy your neighbour. In this world, even a Soviet one, there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts, poor in gifts. Rich in love, poor in love.

Love the Kieślowski/Irene Jacob films...hope this one is great too.

This one is good but not great... weakest in the trilogy.

Loved all three

Interesting perspective! Equality is complex

Now I have to watch this.

I'm sorry, Krzysztof. You were saying...

Not everyone desires true equality.
